Red Hair Maintenance

Hey guys,

I've been a redhead my whole life, but I'll be honest...I only really started to love it within the last few years. Growing up having red hair sucked because it's unique and different and kids are, well- kids. I'm glad I came to love my red hair, it's just so different from everybody else and fun that you have to love it! Even though I'm a natural redhead I've still experimented with dying my hair all different shades of red. When I did this I started to see how hard it is to keep the color so bright and vibrant.

Now-a-days you see so many people dyeing their hair different shades of red from friends to celebrities- it's catching on! Some pull it off, others not so much. Those of you who have tried to pull it off probably noticed how hard it is to upkeep. Every time you shower you see your pretty red color washing down the drain. You've probably wondered if there was a way to keep it longer, because dyeing it often just makes it dead and blah. You've come to the right place, redheads! I've got some great tips for you on how to keep your gorgeous red hair, RED!

1.) DON'T WASH YOUR HAIR EVERYDAY!!!!

  • This is probably the biggest and most important tip. Red hair fades so quickly- too quickly. Washing everyday makes you wash the color out even quicker. Those of you who need to wash your hair everyday probably shouldn't go for red hair. Unless you're prepared to dye it often.
  • If you can, try a dry shampoo in between washes. I've gone 3-4 days without washing my hair because it's wavy anyway and just doesn't get very greasy (I'm very thankful for this!!
2.) Red Shampoo and Conditioner:

  • To make up for the color that washes out everytime you do wash your hair it's best to have a color depositing shampoo & conditioner. My favourite is "Riveting Reds" from Sally Beauty Supply. The shampoo and conditioner itself are pure red- to put some red back into your precious locks and keep it redder, longer.
  • Retails for $6.99 with a Sally Beauty Club card

3.) Color Refresher Mask:

  • This is awesome in between colors to restore the redness, and overall vibrancy.
  • It contains no chemicals!! It's just a mask that refresher, restores, and conditions. I've used this and I have to say it stands up to what it says. I have long thick hair (well past my shoulders) and one packet was enough.
To use: after you wash your hair as normal, towel dry it. Then apply this mask all over and use a comb to make sure you got it everywhere. Let it sit for 3 minutes, hop back into the shower, rinse, and you're good to go! It's best to use gloves because it can tint your hands a bit. Also try not to get too much on your face so you don't have the reddish tint.

This comes in lots of different shades at Sally as well! Retails for $4.49 with your Sally card.

There you have it! If you have any questions or comments I'd love to hear them. Good luck:) Thanks for reading.

Acts of God?

Hey everyone,

So those of you who know me know that I'm not an overly religion person, by any means. I do believe in some aspects but I don't believe that a "Church" has to be a physical place. The way I see it, "church" can be something entirely different for everyone. Personally, I don't like attending church, it's just my preference.Enough about this-back to the story...

About 5 months or so ago, my great grandmother passed away. She was my Grandfather's mother, her name was Emma. My grandfather was such a lucky man to be in his 70's and still have his Mom around (in her 90's) -I always thought that was really great because I know that not everyone has that in life.My grandfather was extremely close to her and visited her daily. Since he's always had his mother around he's been taking this kind of hard. Anyways, last night he was shutting off his cell phone (he's in his seventies, so it's nothing fancy-just your basic Samsung flip) before he went to bed. Normally the screen turns black and shuts off, but for whatever reason the whole phone lit up in white light and the words "Calling Emma" showed up on the screen. He was standing there white as a ghost in the kitchen. In shock basically. The name "Emma" isn't even stored in his phone.

I got chills when he told us the story. It's things like this that really make me think about life, and what happens after it. It's so mind blowing! I feel like humans are only a tiny part of this whole Universe, there's got to be so much more out there!

I'll leave you with that thought!...Crazy isn't it? Has anyone else ever had experiences like this?
Thanks for reading!

iPhone4S Review!

Hey Everyone!!

I was always one of those people who didn't care much about cell phones, and would have the same one forever. As long as it could make calls, and texts I was a happy camper. It wasn't until everyone started getting smart phones that I realised what I was missing out on...I've always had a love for iPhones (and a hate for Blackberries, sorry!) So when I heard the "iPhone5" was coming out I went to my Bell store to get put on the waiting list (this was before the release date was even released and obviously before we all found out that the iPhone5 wasn't coming out yet...it was the iPhone4S instead!)

The iPhone4S was released, to be released on October 14th 2011. Knowing what high demand these babies were in I kind of gave up on getting one that day, or even that week. On my way into work later that same day ( I work in the mall) I stopped in the Bell Mobility store where I signed up to be on the waiting list. To my surprise they did have some of the phones! They told me I was closer to the bottom of the waiting list, but there was a chance I would  get a call later because they had already called about 10 people on the top of the list who said they didn't want the phones any more. About an hour later while I was still at work I called Bell out of curiosity to see if they had given out all of the phones yet. The woman asked my name and said "Oh, I was just about to call you!" I was so happy!! I planned on getting the white 16GB the whole time, so when she asked me what colour I was looking for and the only white one left was the 16GB I was pretty thrilled!!

After I finally paid for the phone ($183 CAN on a 3 year plan with taxes) I asked her how many they had gotten in, she told me 7! I was one of the lucky 7 to get one on the release date and let me tell you, I couldn't be happier! This phone is amazing. For someone who had a Rumour 2 for two years this was a huge step up.

CAMERA/VIDEO:
The phone processes things so fast, and the camera/video are both awesome! This phone shoots videos in 1080HD so the quality is unbelievable. The camera itself is 8MP which is pretty darn great for a cell phone! I was excited about the picture and video features because I have a Canon Rebel XS and it takes amazing pictures, but it's not always easy to take around with me because of its size, and it doesn't shoot video.

SIRI:
At first, Siri didn't work the best for me but after some practice, and after it got used to my voice and accents it started to work surprisingly good and accurate!! I found out on my own that in order to use commands like "Call my Mother" you have to go into the features under "contacts" and verify who you're mother is, etcetera. Instead of typing your text messages there is an option of dictating them, and having Siri "type" them out for you. To be honest, I use this a lot because I'm not 100% used to the keyboard yet and so far I've had good luck and Siri has gotten my words correct! There are even some funny things you can do with Siri. Here are some screenshots:

CONS:
Because I live in Canada, Siri does not do all of the things it is advertised as doing. For example, if I ask Siri where the nearest bathroom is it will tell me "I can't look for places in Canada." It will say the same if I ask about places to eat. This was kind of a disappointment but I am hoping there will be an update for Siri to work in Canada soon.

If anyone has any other questions please ask me! :)

Clinique Gift Time at The Bay!

Hey Lovelies!

I went into my local "Hudson's Bay" Dept. store a few days ago and the Clinique gift promotion caught my eye instantly! The deal is spend $26.50 or more on Clinique products and get a free Clinique gift (make-up bag- skin care, and cosmetics). There were two gifts to choose from- I chose the purples because I loved the lipstick colors that were included. (the other option was brown). I tested out all my products and I absolutely LOVE them! I will be buying a regular size of that mascara- I do love the duo mascara-lipstick...very convenient! Here is the free gift I received- feel free to ask me any questions:)

Stupid Nudists.

Hey Everyone!

As you all know we're living in a world where technology is changing every second of every day, whether we like it or not! Sure this can be an amazing thing (maybe someday we'll be at the point of having robots do everything for us), but it's also leading to some not-so-amazing things. What I want to rant about today is one of the "not-so-amazing" things coming out of today's technology * drum roll please*- nude pictures. Basically every cell phone on the market today has a camera and people sure are using it! Today, nude pictures sent around via cell phone seem almost socially accepted because people are doing it that often. There are no more secrets out there, that's for sure. Almost everyone has some form of these pictures on their cell phone, or has seen them on someone else's phone. They spread like wildfire! Yet, when the nudists in the pictures find out that half of their city or town has naked pictures of them, or has seen naked pictures of them- they have the nerve to get mad! Bitch, you brought it on yourself! If you didn't want half the city to see your naked body then don't take pictures of it and send them around. What's in cyber space, is always in cyberspace. And did I mention that technology is advanced and allows people to save the pictures their their personal cellphones where they are at the liberty to share them with even more people (who can also send them to more people...and so on...you get the point), or post them on the internet! I've seen it done once or twice- on Facebook...inappropriate but sweetie, you brought it on yourself. Hope you lovelies enjoyed my rant!

Stay CLASSY and don't give away all your secrets :)

Road Rage:

We've all experienced it, some more so than others. That moment of utter frustration when you're behind the wheel and the person in front of you just really shouldn't be driving. Some of us might mutter curse words under our breaths quietly and politely, while others might decide to yell curse words at the top of our lungs in hopes that the uneducated driver might just hear.. Whatever the case may be, we've all experienced it. Here are the things that give me road rage the most...feel free to share your opinions and comments everyone :)

1.) The crazy woman who decides (on the highway) that they would rather go 50 instead of 100 for some ridiculous reason.

2.) The senile man driving right in front of you who leaves his blinker on for a good 30 minutes. Leaving you to make an educated guess as to when the hell he will actually turn. Meanwhile you can't figure out how the annoying "ticking" isn't driving him crazy....maybe he prefers it to the radio. That's my best guess.

3.) The 16 year old punk with his hat on backwards, blaring the most unsettling, and racist rap music imaginable who either doesn't see stop signs, or just has his swag on. We'll never really know. What we do know is that he shouldn't have passed his drivers test.

4.) The woman in front of you in the morning on your way to work who is all over the road. One minute she's over the yellow line and the next she's totally off the road. Looks like she slept in, for the 3rd time this week and decided to save time by applying her make up behind the wheel.

5.) The guy who totally cuts you off in the parking lot. You can totally see him text messaging. There's a reason it's illegal to text while driving, moron.
